Thursday 26th February

Hi boys! How's it going? I hope you're fine ready to enjoy your weekend, although maybe you have to study a lot, since the second term is coming to its end. Well, I wish you lots of luck!

This week we have finished this topic about food. Last class we revised countable vs uncountable nouns. We practised listening and speaking activities with questions such as:

  • How much water do you drink?
  • How many tomatoes do you eat?
And so on. You did right.

Also we listened to a chef preparing a delicious dish and you identified the ingredients and the instructions to have this dish done.

After that we were having some posters done in relation to our project. Taking advantage of our topic we got some pictures to ask for food. We wrote FOOD IS A RIGHT and we glued some examples. I'll show you the photos I took.

And what also is coming to its end is our Pet's trips around the world. Next week we will learn about Greece thanks to Javi who will show us photos and interesting things about this unknown country. I think is a very original plan. And then with Bruno the week after we will have finished.

More things: HOMEWORK. I gave you a worksheet you have to complete. It's to revise comparative, vocabulary and coutable-uncountable. We explained in class and you said you didn't have any question... so I hope you do your best, ok? And don't forget and don't tell me stories... as you know if no homework no points.

Here you have this week's:

Thursday 19th February

Hi boys! How's it going? I think you're fine since it's almost weekend and have more time for yourselves, haven't  you? That's good. Also, it's good that you behaved a little better last class. Almost all of you showed me your HW and it was very good. At last!

Last Thursday we continued working with the topic of FOOD. We focused on listening and speaking activities through practising lots of conversations and role-play performances. To be honest, all of you did quite  well.

We worked with new voc when ordering a meal:

  • appetizer
  • sauce
  • mixed fruit
  • filet
and some others.

For homework you will complete some dialogues of this kind in the worksheet I gave you. Also (att the back page) you will have to write a short composition (around 60 words) about your eating habits including:

  • What you have for breakfast, lunch, snack, dinner
  • What time you eat
  • Differences between week and weekend
  • A special day/celebration
I hope this is clear and you write a good composition. If you don't do it you won't get points, right?

Next week our Dragon goes to China with Jonathan. Remember you have to explain interesting things about the country you chose, including where the country is, what the typical food and traditions are, and famous monuments as well. Please, take time enough to do a good job, ok?

And let's finish with your points:

  1. Player 1: 25
  2. Player 2: 26

Thursday 12th February

Hello class! How are you? Last day all of you looked fine and healthy... and even you behaved much better, al last. I was happy with your job with homework and classroom activities.

Last class was really funny! After checking your homework we knew more things about the Dragon's visit to Germany. It was very well done, I really enjoyed this presentation. Next week we will know about France, thanks to Jorge. I'm looking forward to hearing about it.

Then we went to our first topic CARNIVAL and we made some crafts, listened to songs and you told me about your school carnival. I hope you had lots of fun.

The second part of the class we mixed up with other students as we did for Halloween; this time we took advantage of next Saturday celebration: VALENTINE'S Day. You were doing activities and crafts and you learnt lots of things as new voc and symbols and traditions. It was great. I hope you enjoyed.

And please: don't forget to bring your homework. Complete the worksheet about Carnival I gave you in class, ok? To do it right it's important to read the text carefully, otherwise you won't be able to answer properly. The second part is just a quiz so you only have to tick the option you think is correct, ok? Please, I trust you.

Thursday 22nd January

Hello class!! How are you? I guess you're ok since it's nearly weekend and you can rest and relax and have a good time. Maybe you are going to practice your favourite sports; that could be fine now that you have to prepare a presentation about one of them... I hope not everybody speaks about football.

Last class we learned more voc related to sports as sailing, cricket, rowing, fencing... and equipment we use to practice them, as helmet, bat, racquet, stick... We were listening to some kids talking about their favourite sports and when they practice and things like that. Your activities were right.

Also we were doing many activities about the use of the verb CAN for abilitity. Remember that we use this verb the same for all the pronouns: we DO NOT add the final -s to the 3rd person singular. And very important: we DO NOT say "TO" before the infinitive: we say I can ride a bike, but we do not say I can to  ride a bike. Be careful!!

After doing lots of things we listened to a very popular song, always related to sports: "We are the Champions" You really enjoyed the song although you didn't complete all the gaps very well... Here you have in case you want to try again:

To finish with this topic about sports I asked you to prepare a kind of presentation about your favourite one covering these points:

  • Choose a sport
  • Look for relevant information
  • Prepare a presentation (including rules, equipment...)
  • Add a picture or photograph
And very important: DO NOT FORGET!!! If you don't bring your homework you'll get no points.

Going on with our Pet's travels next week we'll know about Japan thanks to Adrian. Remember to take our Dragon's experience when visiting this country and tell us about it, ok?

To finish today here you have your points:

  1. Player 1: 15
  2. Player 2: 31
  3. Player 3: 31
  4. Player 4: 31
  5. Player 5: 32
  6. Player 6: 28
  7. Player 7: 32
  8. Player 8: 14
These weeks you're doing a good job in class... if things go on like this we'll have 2 or more winners!!Let's see.

Be good, have fun, see you in class!

Bye!

Thursday 15th January

Hello class!! First of all Happy New Year and welcome to the second term of our course. I hope you have enjoyed these weeks of holidays and you're ready to work.

Last class we started a new topic, one you like a lot:SPORTS. I know you enjoy this topic since most of you practice sports. Even you showed you know  lots of words related to this.Let's see next week if you still like so much... I hope so in spite of the new voc you'll learn.

We practised lots of listening activities and speaking, too. I have to say you did better than the previous weeks, and that's always good.

Here you have the music we listened to when talking about motivation at sports:

Remember to bring your homework next day: you have to translate the text we practiced in class, we read the whole text and understood the new voc, so I think it's really easy. Saul, you have to do this craft based on the travels of our pet; this term we'll work with  different cultures around the world taking the dragon as the character of these adventures. Don't forget to tell us about your country.

And to finish here you have our points:

  1. Player 1: 25
  2. Player 2: 25
  3. Player 3: 25
